As Vice President of Latino Community Partnerships, Amanda Fernández is responsible for leading Teach For America’s engagement with the Latino community to include outreach as well as recruitment, advancement and development of Latino corps members, staff and alumni. She has increased the partnership opportunities with several Latino serving organizations, where these efforts have greatly increased the awareness of Teach For America (TFA) and their work in the Latino community across the country. Her work seeks to eliminate educational inequality for Latino children in the United States. Since her tenure, TFA has increased Latino representation of teachers to the corps to 10%.
Como vicepresidenta del Alianzas con la Comunidad Latina, Amanda Fernández es responsable de dirigir la promoción, reclutamiento, fomento y desarrollo de los miembros, personal y exalumnos latinos de Teach For America (TFA). Fernández ha logrado aumentar las alianzas con diferentes organizaciones que sirven a latinos, y se ha esforzado por dar a conocer el trabajo que realiza TFA con la comunidad hispana alrededor del país. Con su trabajo Fernández busca eliminar las desigualdades educacionales para los niños latinos de Estados Unidos. Bajo su liderazgo, TFA ha incrementado la representación latina en el cuerpo de profesores en un 10%.
