Mr. Cornu’s first work in affordable housing started in 1965 when, as a Methodist minister, he formed a nonprofit organization in Allston named Charlesview. The organization went on to build 220 units of affordable housing in Allston. From 1968 to 1973 he was the Vice President of the Cambridge Corporation. This nonprofit organization was funded by Harvard and MIT and was responsible for the development of approximately 700 units of affordable housing in Cambridge. In 1973 he started the Cornu Corporation which later became the Cornu Management Company, Inc., promoting affordable housing.
