The beans have spilled into Boston with the arrival of the much anticipated Magic Beans store at The Shops at Prudential Center in BostonÂ’s kid-and family-friendly Back Bay. The 1700-square-foot store is BostonÂ’s first toy store to open since FAO Schwartz closed in 2004. The newest Magic Beans is located in the Newbury Arcade (the corridor shared by the Prudential Center and BostonÂ’s 5-Star Mandarin Oriental Hotel) at 776 Boylston St.
This Saturday, Magic Beans will celebrate their grand opening alongside National Kazoo Day with free activities for kids of all ages. The store will be giving out free Kazoos all morning in anticipation of a Kazoo Flash Mob at 11am. ChildrenÂ’s musician Vanessa Trien will be leading the «mob» and then performing a concert at 11:15 am in the Food Court. At 2 pm, Elmo will join the celebration for a «snack break» provided by Pinkberry frozen yogurt.
