The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, hosts Art in Bloom, its annual festival of flowers, from April 24 – 26. This event brings together 50 New England garden clubs and professional designers to create vibrant floral displays interpreting art from the Museum’s collection. Activities include guided tours, lectures and floral demonstrations by well-known designers, a family day of kids’ activities (Saturday, April 24), and a free evening Open House (Monday, April 26, 5-9 p.m.) Among the 50 works of art that will be interpreted in flowers are masterpieces that span the ages, from ancient Egyptian sculptures and Impressionist works by Millet and Monet, to 20th-century photographs by Harry Callahan and a mural by contemporary artist Kara Walker.
