Independent Film Festival of Boston Announces 2010 Lineup

Boston (March 26, 2010) – The Independent Film Festival of Boston (IFFBoston) announced today the films that will be featured at the 2010 festival. The eighth annual festival will take place April 21-28, 2010. To meet the demands of the festival’s growing audience, the festival will expand to eight days and screenings will take place at the Somerville Theatre in Davis Square, the Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square, the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline, and the Institute of Contemporary Art in downtown Boston. The festival, complete with over 120 film screenings, filmmaker Q&A sessions, panel discussions, visiting filmmakers, parties and events will showcase the best in current American and International cinema.

«THE EXTRA MAN» directed by Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman (AMERICAN SPLENDOR) will open the 8th annual festival on April 21st at the Somerville Theatre. The film stars Kevin Kline, Paul Dano, John C. Reilly, and Katie Holmes. Kevin Kline will be in attendance for a Q&A and to receive a Career Achievement Award from the festival.

«SATURDAY NIGHT» directed by James Franco, will close the festival on Wednesday April 28th at the Coolidge Corner Theatre.  This marks the actor’s documentary feature directorial debut. The film is an in-depth look behind the scenes of one week creating an episode of Saturday Night Live.

–    Mark and Jay Duplass’s CYRUS starring John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill, Catherine Keener, and Marisa Tomei
–    I AM LOVE starring Tilda Swinton
–    Michael Winterbottom’s controversial THE KILLER INSIDE ME starring Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, and Bill Pullman
–    Todd Solondz’s LIFE DURING WARTIME starring Alison Janney, Paul Reubens, and Ally Sheedy
