BOSTON- Eastern Bank, the official bank of the Boston Red Sox television network, donated $51,000 this season through its foundation to Boys & Girls Clubs across its eastern Massachusetts footprint.
For every Red Sox win this season, the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation donated $500 to a specified Boys & Girls Club. Each month, a new club was selected to receive $500 for each win. In August, two clubs were selected and each received $500 for a win.
The Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth received the final donation of the season, as the Red Sox’s 13 wins in September resulted in a $6,500 donation from the bank’s charitable foundation.
Eastern Bank created the program this year to demonstrate its commitment to the communities it serves and to illustrate the importance of teamwork among corporations and local not-for-profits.
The program reached Boys & Girls Clubs operating in Greater Boston, Cape Cod, Greater Lowell, MetroWest, North Shore and South Shore.
«The Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation has helped make it possible for us to provide needed programs for our kids,» said Garreth J. Lynch, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth.

Holbrook, Eastern Bank chairman and CEO. «We strive to be the best citizen for our communities and this program was a great example of that.»
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem and Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest put their funds towards a «Power Hour» program where children complete their homework with assistance from counselors.
The Boys & Girls Club of Lynn and the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod used their contribution to support a health and fitness program. In addition, the Boys & Girls Club of Lynn put some funds towards its «Project Learn» program, which assists students with school assignments.
