Join the 2nd annual Women of Courage event, a celebration to pay tribute to extraordinary women who have gone above and beyond in their support of the Latino Community. La Alianza Hispana is recognizing the outstanding achievements of 11 Latina women who represent excellence in their respective fields and serve as pillars of support for the Latino Community.
Women of Courage will take place on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 from 6:00pm to 11:00pm at the Villa Victoria Center for the Arts at 85 West Newton Street in Boston. The evening’s exciting line-up features a special award ceremony, a silent auction, remarks from elected officials, a key note address from U.S. Attorney of Massachusetts Carmen Ortíz (Lifetime Achievement Award recipient), catered hors d’oeuvres, full service bars and live musical performances by Cuban string quartet Di eVano, Spanish rock band El Frente, and the Latin infused rhythms of Santa Mamba. We are expecting over 350 people to attend our 2010 Women of Courage celebration.
In addition to raising money, this year’s Women of Courage event will be an opportunity for growth for La Alianza Hispana. Founded in 1971, La Alianza Hispana is the starting point for over 2,000 Latinos annually who seek support at all stages of their life. La Alianza Hispana provides culturally and linguistically appropriate health and education programs to the Latino Community of Greater Boston. Like many area nonprofits, La Alianza Hispana has been affected by recent budget cuts; nevertheless, La Alianza Hispana continues to empower families during these tough times. It is what we have been doing for nearly 40 years and it is what we will continue to do.
Tickets are $65 each for general admission, and VIP will be $100. The VIP session will take place from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm in the Galleria adjacent to the Ball Room. For those interested in buying more than one ticket, a group discount for General Admission will be offered at 10 tickets for $600 or 5 tickets for $300. Tickets are available at La Alianza Hispana or via our web site: www.laalianza.org.
