El alcalde Thomas M. Menino en colaboración con Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, anunciaron el festival Caliente! que celebrará la cultura y música latina. Se trata de un evento gratuito y al aire libre en el City Hall Plaza, el próximo sábado 6 de septiembre de 4pm a 8pm. El evento contará con la presencia de la leyenda de la salsa Tito Rojas.
One of the most popular acts currently on the Latin music circuit, Tito Rojas was born in Puerto Rico and broke into the Latin Billboards hit list with his 1995 album Por Propio Derecho (On my own right) winning him «Best Salsa Artist of the Year.» The hits continued into the 1990s with Pal’ Pueblo (1997) and Alegrias y Penas (1999) (Happiness and Sadness.) A popular Las Vegas performer, Tito Rojas released a live record from Las Vegas entitled Tito Rojas Live: Autenticamente En Vivo.
Ensuring that there is something for everyone, the rest of the program includes a rich variety of Latin arts: From Brazil comes the musical dance troupe, AfroBrazil; reggaeton, Ballistic and Ery & Bullet; Latin American youth dance troupe, Ritmo en Accion; Colombian music and dance troupe, Achuira & Bajucol and Dominican Merengue orchestra, Alto Honor.
