Two window washers were rescued from the 37th floor on a Boston high-rise when the platform they were working on somehow shifted, one side dropping several feet below the other. The two men were trapped outside the downtown building, at 53 State Street, for about 20 minutes before firefighters broke two windows to get them inside.
Pedestrians were kept away by authorities as glass from the broken windows fell to the street. While one of the workers was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries, the other refused treatment. Authorities were still trying to stabilize the dangling platform as of late this morning.
