BOSTON (February 6, 2009) – Last year’s Tour de Champagne Boston was such a hit with local wine lovers that the event is back for round two! Once again, Tour de Champagne will bring together champagne from a variety of prestigious champagne houses like Ruinart, Louis Roederer, and Perrier Jouet; cuisine from some of the city’s most talented chefs, a special visit from former White House Pastry Chef Roland Messnier and live entertainment. During the evening, guests will also have a chance to peruse a silent auction benefitting a local non-profit organization The Greater Boston Food Bank, and VIP ticketholders will enjoy a Fin de Soirée featuring Peyrot Cognacs, and a chocolate and dessert buffet at the Regatta Bar, following the main event.

A champagne preview dinner will be held on Thursday, February 26 at The Charles Hotel. Join Chef Jody Adams of Rialto Restaurant, Chef Peter Davis of Henrietta’s Table, Pastry Chef Danny Angelopolis of The Charles Hotel, special visiting Chef Ryan Hardy of The Little Nell in Aspen, Colorado and Rowan Jacobsen, author of The Geography of Oysters and winner of a James Beard Award for «A New England Shellfish Dinner featuring Oysters & Champagne.» All-inclusive tickets are $125 and include a champagne and oyster reception and four-course New England shellfish dinner. Call 617-661-5096 for reservations.

For more than three years, Tour de Champagne has popped into cities including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco and Washington D.C. In each city, the event joins forces with top local restaurants and chefs to create an unmatched champagne tasting experience.

Restaurants participating in the 2009 Tour de Champagne Boston include Aujourd’hui, Avila, Brasserie Jo, Elliott’s (Chef Eric Hellner will be flying in from this Seattle restaurant), Henrietta’s Table, Mantra, Radius, Rialto, and Sasso (with Lucca). Once again bringing chefs and sommeliers together from Boston’s finest restaurants promises to be the culinary treat of 2009.
