Tomorrow, June 17, Knight Foundation will announce the newest winners of an international contest to fund the best digital ideas to transform community news. It’s called the Knight News Challenge.
The announcement – very timely, considering the media industry’s pressing needs for experimentation – will take place at a gathering of some of the country’s brightest digital innovators at MIT in Boston. The close to 100 participants will convene for the conference where they will exchange ideas and hopefully inspire new projects. Many of them are past News Challenge winners, all of them have a daily impact on the future of news.
The conference will be held in the impromptu barcamp format, with attendees determining the topics for breakout meeting collaboratively in advance of the conference and at it.
