Ten Tumbao, a fresh, funky local band that mixes tropical rhythms and vocal harmonies, will perform at «La Primavera Encantada» (Enchanted Spring), the Brookline Arts Center’s Spring fundraising event, on Saturday, May 3rd 2008.
This gala event, with a lively Latin flair, will be held at the lovely Wightman Mansion, now the home of Wheelock College, at 43 Hawes St., Brookline. An Afro-Latin-Caribbean style band, Ten Tumbao features young and talented musicians, including the bandleader, Kenny Kozol, who grew up in Brookline and now teaches at Brookline High School.
Ten Tumbao is fast becoming one of the top Latin bands in Boston and they have performed at such venues as Ryles, Havana Club, Matt Murphy’s Pub, the Hyatt Regency Ball Room, the Harvard Club. They also play regularly with local music legend Bo Winiker and the Winiker Orchestra.
«It’s wonderful for me to be back in Brookline where I grew up and to be able to play at a fundraiser for the Brookline Arts Center, a great organization which does so much good for our community,» said bandleader Kenny Kozol. «All our band members are really looking forward to this special event on May 3rd.»
