The MBTA green line operator accused of text messaging while driving the T was charged today with gross negligence while in control of a train. Aiden Quinn, 24, pled not guilty in a Suffolk Court and was released with bail, but it expected back in court on July 27th when a permanent defense attorney will be assigned to his case. Quinn could face up to three years in prison for the crash that injured 62 people and cost 9 million in damages. He is charges with a statute that hasn’t been used for 135 years, according to his lawyer, who says it should have remained in the history books.
