BOSTON – Mayor Thomas M. Menino and the Boston Elderly Commission invite all Boston senior citizens of Hispanic decent to a gala luncheon honoring them on Friday, September 30, 2008 at the Reggie Lewis Athletic Center in Roxbury. The event will take place from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and include transportation, a luncheon full of delicious Hispanic specialties, Latino entertainment and raffle prizes – all free!
This is the 6th Annual Hispanic Heritage Luncheon to take place after the US Congress declared in 2003 that National Hispanic Heritage would be celebrated between Sept. 15 and Oct. 15 each year to show appreciation and celebrate the many contributions made by the Hispanic population of the United States. Under the direction of Mayor Menino, the City takes this opportunity to demonstrate its appreciation to all its Hispanic elders with this annual luncheon.
