BOSTON, MA – Hollywood celebrities and regional sports stars will descend on Boston for the 4th annual «Joslin Under the Stars» presented by Walgreens this September 24 and 25, 2008. Whether you are a fitness fanatic, an avid golfer, corporate executive or long time Joslin friend, this multi-day event has something for everyone. With this event, Joslin Diabetes Center, the world’s largest diabetes research, clinical care and education organization, celebrates 110 years of excellence and its alliance with Walgreens to improve the lives of the nearly 21 million Americans with diabetes.
«Joslin Under the Stars» presented by Walgreens kicks off on Wednesday, September 24 at Fenway Park as the Boston Red Sox take on the Cleveland Indians. Immediately following, the Walgreens Welcome Party at Hotel Commonwealth will offer guests, Joslin leaders and celebrities the opportunity to meet and greet at their leisure.
Thursday, September 25 participants will take to the links as the All-Star Golf Tournament tees off at one of New England’s most exclusive courses, The International in Bolton. Participating foursomes will include a celebrity and are invited to a post-golf awards ceremony.
That evening, the stars will shine bright as Hollywood and Joslin friends and supporters join together at the Star-Studded Gala. Boston’s Center for the Performing Arts urban venue, The Cyclorama, will be transformed into a celestial centerpiece as the popular South End space welcomes celebrity guests including Willie Garson of this year’s much-anticipated «Sex and the City» movie; Ironman Triathlete Jay Hewitt who himself lives with diabetes, and his wife Miss United States 2005 Anna Hanks Hewitt; actor/comedian Jonathan Pessin; Bachelor runner-up Eric Pappachristos and several former Bruins, Celtics and Patriots players.
Proceeds from «Joslin Under the Stars» presented by Walgreens benefit Joslin’s High Hopes Fund, which supports the Center’s multi-dimensional efforts in the fight against diabetes.

* Red Sox Game & Walgreens Welcome Party…Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 7:00p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Celebrities and guests arriving early have the opportunity to experience Boston as a true Bostonian as Joslin Under the Stars 2008 kicks off at Fenway Park. Attendees will see Boston’s World Series Champions take on the Cleveland Indians. Immediately following the Hotel Commonwealth will serve as the backdrop for guests as Walgreens executives, Joslin leaders and celebrities mix and mingle at this intimate and relaxing meet and greet. Guests will enjoy great food, drink and company while preparing for the exciting and eventful days to come!
* All-Star Golf Tournament…Thursday, Sept. 25, 9:00 a.m. Shotgun Start Fore! The All-Star Golf Tournament tees off with host NFL Pro Jason Sehorn at The International in Bolton. The tournament, which pairs golfers with celebrities for a round of 18 holes, begins with a shotgun start at 9:00a.m. A post-event awards ceremony rounds out the day.
* Star-Studded Dinner…Thursday, Sept. 25, from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Celebrities and excitement will abound as the day culminates at Boston’s Center for the Performing Arts hippest venue, The Cyclorama. Guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner, live music and a celebration of 110 years of Joslin Diabetes Center’s accomplishments.
