Inmigración 411 is a weekly television series that provides Spanish-speaking Americans with practical advice about their urgent immigration issues.

Inmigración 411 is produced by HITN and hosted by Víctor Daniel Nieblas, a leading immigration attorney who practices in Los Angeles.

Each week, Mr. Nieblas responds to questions that really matter to U.S. Latinos.
In Episode 1, viewers ask:

«What should I do if ICE agents come knocking on my door?»
«How should I act if I am caught in a raid at work?»
«Can a change in my matrimonial status impact my immigration status?»
«I have worked here illegally for years. I paid my taxes, and built up a successful business.  Can I legalize my status?»

Inmigración 411 viewers email or phone their questions to Mr. Nieblas. Some are selected to meet with Mr. Nieblas in his law office for a live consultation. Mr. Nieblas meets with other Latinos in their homes or at their work sites.
Mr. Nieblas provides answers in the television program and on the program’s website, found at www.HITN.tv/Inmigracion411.

The Inmigración 411website also directs viewers to community and professional organizations that offer reliable and affordable advice on immigration problems.  «We use our access to interview government officials from USCIS,» says Mr. Nieblas. «Our viewers need to understand how government officials interpret and enforce the law. And USCIS is eager to tell its story to the public.»

«I am greatly impressed by the level of service HITN provides with our new program Inmigración 411. We receive an incredible feedback from our viewers with a great number of emails, phone calls, and text messages every day,» says Florentina Balseca, HITN’s director of programming.

HITN is celebrating its 25th anniversary as the first American public television channel for Latinos.

According to HITN founder and CEO Jose-Luis Rodríguez, «Our mission has always been to help each new wave of Latino immigrants to become productive U.S. citizens.»

HITN reaches more than 31 million satellite and cable households, and more than 60 million on VOD.

«Inmigracion 411 video segments will be available on our website, www.HITN.tv» says Rodríguez.  «Our research shows that Spanish-dominant Hispanics are increasingly turning to the Internet for answers to questions – particularly immigration issues – that can’t wait until the next scheduled television broadcast.»

HITN also plans to launch an Inmigración 411 channel on YouTube.

«YouTube has become much more than a source of silly video clips,» says associate producer Nora Segovia. «YouTube is the fastest-growing search engine amongst young people. They want their questions answered in the video format.»
According to Segovia, «We designed Inmigración 411 to be chopped up into searchable video clips that give answers to the most urgent questions about immigration.»

Inmigación 411 recommends organizations that offer legal counsel to Latinos.
In turn, the program is being welcomed by national and local organizations that support the Hispanic community.
