HOY: Inicia la exhibición Paredes de Fuego/Walls on Fire en Villa Victoria Center for the Arts

Paredes en Fuego/Walls on Fire es una exhibición anual dedicada a mostrar las imágenes y las voces de los jóvenes artistas del IBA-Cacique Youth Learning Center.

«Estoy constantemente sorprendido con la tremenda calidad de obras hechas por los jóvenes de esta comunidad. Mientras estaba instalando con las internas, Lily y Allison, les mencioné que las obras hechas con tinta sumi y los dibujos en pastel instalados en el primer salón-son unos de mis favoritos en esta exhibición. La imaginación y los temas personales de las obras hechas por los participantes jóvenes del CYLC es indicativo del tremendo poder que tiene el arte para transformar la vida del individuo, y estamos sumamente entusiasmados de ser parte de ese proceso a través de esta exhibición» -Evan J. Paredes en Fuego/Walls on Fire is an annual exhibition dedicated to showcasing the imagery and voices of the young artists from the IBA-Cacique Youth Learning Center.

«I am constantly amazed at the incredible quality of work made by the youth of this community. As I was installing the exhibition with our gallery interns, Lily and Allison, I mentioned that the sumi ink and pastel drawings-installed in the front gallery-are some of my favorite works in this exhibit. The imagination and deeply personal nature of the art made by the CYLC youth is indicative of the incredible power of art in the transformation of one’s life, and we are thrilled to be participants in this process through the exhibition of their work.» -Evan J. All proceeds of art sold from Paredes en Fuego/Walls on Fire will go directly to the youth artists who created them.
