BOSTON – The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) and its Greater Boston Employer Advisory Board today honored six local companies with Distinguished Employer Awards. At an event this morning at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, the state honored employers who have demonstrated exceptional commitments to hiring individuals with disabilities.

«Employers are key partners in the state’s collaborative efforts to create opportunities for people with disabilities to participate fully as residents of the Commonwealth,» said MRC Commissioner Charles Carr. «People with disabilities have much to contribute to Massachusetts’ workforce, and today we honor individuals and companies that have dedicated themselves to opening doors for others.»

The 2008 Distinguished Employer Award honorees (including their hometowns) were:
