Gov. Deval Patrick warned this morning that a multibillion-dollar infusion of federal stimulus money won’t be enough to prevent further cuts to the state budget and programs.
Appearing at a Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce breakfast, Patrick praised the $787 billion stimulus package signed yesterday by President Barack Obama.
The package is expected to bring in $6 billion to $9 billion in direct funding for Massachusetts – and as much as $9 billion to $12 billion when tax cuts and competitive contract grants are included.
