CHELSEA, Mass. – Eastern Bank today announced the opening of a new branch in Chelsea, as it continues to expand its presence throughout key markets across eastern Massachusetts.
The new location, Eastern’s 74th branch, is the first new bank to open in Chelsea in a decade. Eastern’s newest branch, located at 90 Everett Ave., is the seventh operating bank in the bustling Suffolk County city, which is home to more than 35,000 people.

Holbrook and Eastern Bank President Robert Rivers will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, with Chelsea City Councilor President Stanley Troisi at the bank’s new office.
Eastern’s newest location is managed by Hugh Archbald, formerly of Citizens Bank in Chelsea. The branch’s hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The office is a full-service branch offering deposit and investment services, a drive-through teller window and 24-hour ATM.
