Boston Magazine’s 2006 «Best of Boston DJ,» DJ Bruno, releases the mixed CD, Underground Boston, and launches the internet radio station, Utopiabostonradio.com on Sunday, May 25th at Utopia Sundays, Weekly Dig Magazine’s 2007 «Best Sunday Night.»
The mixed compilation, Underground Boston, features the works of locally-based producers and singers such as the Shadow Kings, Liza Zayas, Bradford James, Lamar Black, Judeah Stones, Vick Lavendor, Seed Allstarz and Kevin James, proving to highlight the talent within Boston’s dance community.
Online, Utopiabostonradio.com will host programming dedicated to House, Hip-Hop, Dub, Reggae, and other musical genres. Its first edition, Underground Boston, will debut on Sunday, May 25th at 3:00 p.m. EST featuring DJ Bruno.
In honor of these two projects, Utopia Sundays is hosting musically-themed events during the month of May. The kick-off begins on Sunday, May 4th with the «Tribute to Pioneer House Labels Party» when DJ Bruno will revisit vinyl released by Nervous, Prescription, Strictly Rhythm, Gian Step, Nu Groove, 8 Ball, Emotive and other groundbreaking record labels.
DJ Bruno then pays tribute to singers, songs and anthems at the «Soulful Vocals Party» on Sunday, May 11th, followed by the deep and tribal rhythms showcase dubbed the «Drum Beat Party» on Sunday, May 18th.
Underground Boston MIX CD will be available May 29th on Traxsource.com and various music stores. Utopiabostonradio.com blasts-off into cyberspace on Sunday, May 25th at 3:00 p.m. The official «Launch Party» begins later that evening at Aua Tua Nua for Utopia Sundays. DJ Bruno invites you to join the Utopia community and set off the summer vibe at this very special event celebrating the debut of these two projects. Expect an eclectic set of dance grooves and one serious bash at one of Boston’s most deeply rooted underground parties.
Utopia Sundays is held at Aua Tua Nua, 835 Beacon Street, minutes from Kenmore Square. This is a 21 event. Doors open at 10pm. There is no dress code; just be prepared to dance!
