On Thursday November 19 2009, The Beehive presents the exquisite sounds of Cuban jazz with Grammy Award winning artist Dave Samuels. As the top mallet player of his generation, Samuels is recognized for his creative approach in both the vibraphone and marimba. In 2003, he received a Grammy Award for «Best Latin Jazz Recording» for the Caribbean Jazz Project’s CD «The Gathering.» Grammy award-winning drummer/ percussionist Mark Walker will be joining Samuels band this evening. Walker is one of the finest and most versatile players on the international touring and recording scene today. He has performed and recorded extensively with Oregon, Paquito D’Rivera, Michel Camilo, the Caribbean Jazz Project, David Leibman, and Cesar Camargo Mariano amongst others.
