Boston, MA (February 10, 2009)- Seven-time GRAMMY® winner Coldplay will launch a North American tour in Portland, OR on July 10th. The tour will be making a stop at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA on Monday, August 3, 2009.

Coldplay performed at the 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, February 8th, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. At the event they took home an impressive 3 awards: song of the year, best rock album and best pop performance by duo or group.

CBS’ «60 Minutes» featured a segment on the band in the hour preceding the GRAMMY Awards telecast. Coldplay resumes its enormously successful world tour on February 12th, heading to Japan and Australia before returning to North America for its summer dates. The band, which picked up two Q Awards and two World Music Awards in 2008, was recently honored with four Brit Awards nominations.

Viva La Vida was released in June 2008 and charted at No. 1 in 36 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom. In the U.S., it ranked #1 on the Top Ten Selling Digital Albums chart for 2008 – and it is also the top-selling digital album in SoundScan history. Viva La Vida is the band’s fourth consecutive studio album to be certified multi-Platinum by the RIAA and is fast approaching 8 million units sold worldwide.
