Children’s culminated its 2009 Latino Heritage Month celebration with a special networking event in partnership with the Latino Professional Network (LPN), a local non-profit organization which creates career, educational and social opportunities for Latino professionals.
Children’s first-ever LPN event, which was held in the Karp Family Research Laboratories Building, attracted approximately 75 professionals representing a wide-range of industries throughout Massachusetts.

The goal of event was to raise awareness within the Latino professional community regarding Children’s important role as a pediatric hospital, research enterprise, community partner, economic engine and workplace of choice. According to Michelle Gordon-Seemore, Director of Staffing, the event also served as an excellent way to connect with talented Latino professionals who may want to pursue a career at Children’s.
