MIAMI- August, 19, 2008 -Telemundo Communications Group, a leading producer of high-quality content for Hispanics in the U.S. and audiences around the world, announced results for its ten-day viewership of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. According to Nielsen Media Research, Telemundo’s coverage of the games thru 8/17/08 which equaled 96 hours, was watched by 12 million unique Persons 2 which now has surpassed the ’04 Athens cumulative audience (10.8 M) by 12%.

In its second Olympic broadcast, Telemundo is offering an unprecedented 380 hours of exclusive coverage through its standard daily broadcast schedule – 2am to 6am ET/PT and 8am to 10am ET/PT – as well as its 24/7 broadband-exclusive video coverage in its exclusive webpage, www.OlimpiadasTelemundo.com. Telemundo’s Olympic programming includes the broadcast of sports events narrated in Spanish, as well as a series of special programs focusing on the participating Latin American countries, Hispanic athletes and all the excitement from the Olympic Games in Beijing. The network Olympic coverage will feature competitions in the following sports, among others: men’s and women’s soccer, basketball, gymnastics, diving, volleyball, as well as track and field, swimming and baseball.

The 2008 Beijing Olympics primetime coverage on Telemundo through 8/17/08 has averaged 299,000 total households with a 20% growth over prior year and 451,000 Persons 2 , an increase of 21% over last year. In the demos of 18-49 and 25-54, the audiences have seen growth of 30% (274,000 vs 211,000) and 33% (255,000 vs 192,000), respectively.
