Since July 1998, Juan has been Executive Director of Centro Latino de Chelsea, a non-profit community-based organization that for over 19 years has focused on addressing the health, education, and social well-being goals of Latino and immigrant families in the Greater Boston area. In this role, he has increased the profile and reach of the organization, and successfully managed the growth of Centro Latino into one of the state’s largest Latino-directed human service organizations. Juan served as a City Councilor until 2001 when he stepped down to focus on his family and career. He serves on various community boards and committees.
Desde julio de 1998, Juan Vega ha sido director ejecutivo del Centro Latino de Chelsea, una organización sin fines de lucro que por más de 19 años se ha enfocado en los objetivos sociales de salud, educación y bienestar de las familias latinas e inmigrantes en Boston. Vega ha logrado aumentar el perfil de la organización, convirtiendo al Centro Latino en una de las mayores organizaciones latinas del estado. Vega fue concejal de la ciudad hasta 2001 y es actualmente miembro de diversos consejos y comités de la comunidad.
