My Blue Butterfly/Mi Mariposa Azul is a Spanish/English book with an originalmusic CD, which was written by Venezuelan born, Mercedes Alvarez Rodman, who moved to the US in 1978.
She was inspired to write this book because she would have liked to have found such story available in both languages when she was learning English herself.
Plot: Two young girls, one from Boston and one from Venezuela, meet over the Internet through the ground-breaking international musical program, El Sistema.
