Festival del Plátano en Lawrence | This first festival dedicated to the plantain was the inspiration of the organizers of the Dominican Parade and Festival of Lawrence, and was basically a contest in which the first prize went to the best dish made with plantains. Of the 12 participants, the winner, chosen by a committee composed of seven judges, was «Pasteles en Hojas,» with a flan made of plantain in second place.
Ideada por los organizadores del Desfile y Festival Dominicano de Lawrence, esta primera feria dedicada al plátano consistió básicamente en un concurso en donde se premió al mejor platillo hecho con plátano. De los 12 participantes, el ganador, elegido por un comité compuesto de siete jurados, fue «Pasteles en Hojas», quedando en segundo lugar un flan elaborado con plátano.
