The Ellie Fund’s Oscar Night Boston Gala brings Hollywood Glamour to The Hub on March 7

BOSTON, Mass. – The prestige and glamour of Hollywood comes to Boston for The Ellie Fund’s 14th Annual Oscar Night Boston Gala, the state’s only Academy Awards celebration officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Movie lovers have the opportunity to show off their black-tie finest on the red carpet and enjoy the state’s only live telecast of the 82nd Academy Awards onMarch 7, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. at The Langham, Boston, 250 Franklin Street, Boston.

All proceeds from the event benefit The Ellie Fund’s innovative «Care for the Caregiver» program, which provides transportation to medical appointments, childcare, housekeeping, and meals free of charge for more than 500 women and families each year who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer in Massachusetts.

The annual Oscar Night Boston Gala brings out the stars. Susan Wornick of WCVB-5 has said it is «the best Oscar party anywhere, with a great combination of fabulous food, beautiful people and rooms full of FUN.» Working with Boston’s most connected communications and film professionals, The Ellie Fund soiree offers the chance to walk the red carpet and rub elbows with Bay State’s finest.

The Langham Boston provides the glamorous backdrop for the gala, and telecasts the 82nd Annual Academy Awards celebration live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. In addition to surprise celebrity guests with Hollywood connections, this year’s celebration will be emceed by WCVB-TV5 personalities JC Monahan, Bianca de la Garza, Randy Price and David Brown, as well as Sue Brady, «Fast Freddy» and Gregg Daniels from Mix 104.1.

Guests can receive the star treatment beginning early in the day with an exclusive on-site salon at the hotel hosted by the award-winning Charles David Salon, plus special hotel room rates, an upscale event menu including Island Creek Oyster bar and The Langham Hotel’s famous Chocolate Bar buffet, as well as lavish hors d’oeuvres and chef stations by Tresca, The Langham, Panera Bread, and Lindsey’s.
