After several weeks of anticipation, The Boston Shaker cocktail tool and supply opened doors to its new retail location in Davis Square the weekend before Valentine’s Day. The 450-square-foot store offers an expanded collection of the essential tools and niche ingredients that have made it a go-to resource for cocktail enthusiasts since opening in 2008 in a corner of the Union Square boutique, GRAND.
«To craft a quality cocktail it helps to start with the right tools and ingredients,» said owner Adam Lantheaume. «Unfortunately, many of these essential items are surprisingly hard to find, especially all in one place, making it difficult – and a little intimidating – to get started. I founded The Boston Shaker to solve that problem and offer cocktail enthusiasts of all levels access to the tools they need in a comfortable, approachable environment.»
In addition to offering the basic items home bartenders need, such as shakers, strainers, muddlers, and jiggers, The Boston Shaker will sell an expanded collection of niche ingredients. About Adam Lantheaume
Adam Lantheaume is a Boston-based cocktail authority and founder/proprietor of The Boston Shaker. While working for a Cambridge-based technology company located adjacent to legendary Boston cocktail mecca the B-Side Lounge, Lantheaume developed a taste for high quality classic and craft cocktails, many of which he found impossible to recreate at home for lack of the proper tools and ingredients.
