in the Game Vie for the Staples Champions Cup Title
WHO: Six-time French Open champion and five-time Wimbledon champion Bjorn Borg; four-time U.S. Open champion John McEnroe; two-time French Open and Australian Open champion Jim Courier; three-time French Open champion Mats Wilander; 2003 Wimbledon finalist and «Age of Love» reality TV star Mark Philippoussis; 1986 French Open runner-up Mikael Pernfors; 1983 Italian Open winner Jimmy Arias; and 1992 Olympic silver medalist Wayne Ferreira.
WHAT: Eight of the best athletes to ever play professional tennis vie for the Staples Champions Cup title during four days of fierce competition from Thursday, April 29 through Sunday, May 2, 2010.
The Staples Champions Cup tournament features a single-elimination format with the winners of the Thursday and Friday night’s event quarterfinal matches facing off in semifinal play during the Saturday afternoon and evening sessions. Additionally, doubles matches will take place during both day and evening sessions on Saturday with player participants coming from the defeated quarterfinalists. A third-place and championship match will conclude the tournament on Sunday.
