Gooooool!

Filling FIFA World Cup Panini Sticker Albums (for more information see http://www.paninigroup.com/en/fifaworldcup/the-collection/the-album)  is a long-standing tradition in Latin American and European countries where stickers of World Cup team players are collected and traded much as baseball cards are traded in the US.  Immigrants to the US have brought this tradition here as an activity that involves the entire family.

The World Cup for Children Program was the inspiration of several Latino friends who wanted to bring this cherished tradition to patients at Children’s Hospital Boston.  Hispanic News Press and Latin Roots, a non-profit organization which focuses on improving the educational opportunities of Latino children (www.latinroots.org) have partnered to make it happen.

Together, they provided 220 patients at Children’s with an Official FIFA World Cup Panini Sticker Card Album and 800 sticker cards.  They are continuing their fund-raising efforts with a goal of 300 patients.

Local individuals as well as corporations including Michael Kenwood Capital Management, Framingham Cooperative Bank and Cabot Cheese Company are among the sponsors.
