On August 13th, after more than 40 year on air, WBCN 104.1 FM will go off the air to make room for new sports and talk shows. WBCN, owned by CBS Radio Boston, has a reputation for beign the most progressive commercial rock station in the country, and is credited with leading the progressive rock ‘n roll movement from the 1960s to today. The show, which has been struggling with ratings, will be replaced by Mix 98.5, and a new sports show called The Sports Hub will move into Mix 98.5’s slot. The Sports Hub will air New England Patriots and Boston Bruins games. WBCN will still be available online at www.wbcn.com.
