Ethos is opening another congregate meal site for elders, particularly Spanish elders in Jamaica Plain called Soul & Salsa. The lunch program will run from 11am-1pm every Wednesday rotating menus every other week with a traditional menu and Latino menu.
Congregate meal sites like Soul & Salsa offer a healthy and convenient group dining option for anyone over 60. In addition to the advantages of a hot, nutritious meal that requires no shopping, preparation or cleanup, every site offers planned social activities and informational programming.
Attending the meal sites also offers the opportunity to visit and socialize with other senior citizens. Seniors can actually improve their health by eating healthier foods, interacting with others and even getting a little exercise. Ethos currently operates 13 of these type of meal sites in JP, Roslindale, Mattapan, Hyde Park, West Roxbury and Allston/Brighton areas.
