BOSTON (Fall, 2009).- Husband and wife team, Jared and Abbie Mancini, announce the opening of Sip Café, located in the heart of Boston’s financial center. With the opening of Sip Café, the downtown community finally has their own neighborhood spot!
The new cafe operates in the iconic, revitalized glass gazebo at the edge of beautiful Post Office Square Park and is positioned to become the gathering spot for people who live, work and visit the downtown area.
Customers entering Sip Café walk into a cozy atmosphere filled with intoxicating aromas of freshly ground gourmet coffee, warm award-winning pastries and Paninis grilled to perfection. Sip Café serves coffee from the George Howell Coffee Company (Acton, MA) – considered one of the world’s best coffee roasters – as well as sandwiches, salads, soups, and pastries made with the freshest ingredients that are offered at competitive prices.
In the warm months, the coffee shop opens its outside patio to guests who seek an ideal place to enjoy the nice weather. While in the winter months, Sip Café offers guests a warm, refreshing space with an abundance of natural light that flows through the café’s gazebo windows, making this famous neighborhood spot an ideal place to escape from the cold and re-charge with a morning coffee, lunch, or an afternoon snack. Sip Café brings an authentic neighborhood atmosphere to the community; something corporate coffee houses simply cannot do.
Sip Café understands that our community must sustain itself in order to prosper. The café helps support local establishments by sourcing its coffee, dairy, pastries, bread and produce from local vendors. Thus, the café is re-investing in our local economy while still providing a fresh and delicious alternative to corporate coffee chains.
Owner/Master Barista/Coffee Expert, Jared Mancini, has been exposed to and worked in all aspects of the coffee industry. For over 7 years, Jared was the general manger of the popular and multiple Best of Boston Winner Torrefazione Italia, a café formerly located on Newbury Street. Most recently, Jared was able to hone his skills at the George Howell Coffee Company. Here, he participated in all aspects of the coffee production process, including the initial tasting of samples from various coffee farmers around the world and the artisan roasting of these beans. After nearly 10 years in the coffee industry, Jared is fulfilling his dream of owning his own café and giving back to his community.
Sip Café is open: Monday – Friday: 6:30am – 6:00pm, Saturday: 9:00am – 4:00pm, Closed Sunday. SIP Café is located at Zero Post Office Square, Boston, MA 02109.
