Karla Romero is the founding president and chief executive officer of Mass Appeal International, a food rescue program that provides meals to more than 2,000 people each month. The organization also has a mentoring program to help underprivileged youth and sponsors a Youth Ambassador program to provide volunteer and civic opportunities to women. Romero represented Boston in the Miss USA Pageant as Miss Boston and has served as a motivational speaker for high-risk urban youth, promoting higher education, civic duty, self-determination and pride in diversity.
