Centro Presente needs your help

Letter from Centro Presente:
«Dear Friends,

As you are aware the people of El Salvador once again find themselves trying to piece together their homes, infrastructure and lives after a devastating natural disaster.  The flooding and landslides caused by the passage of Hurricane Ida on November 9th have left around 200 dead and over 13,000 people in temporary shelters in five departments, and the government estimates that humanitarian assistance will be needed for some 75 thousand people for several months.

Centro Presente is collaborating with local sister organizations, such as The Chelsea Collaborative, La Comunidad, CORES, Enlazando Fronteras, Jobs with Justice-Massachusetts and Agencia ALPHA to raise funds in response to these critical needs.  We are part of a national effort coordinated by the Salvadoran American National Network (SANN) which will transfer the needed financial assistance to the people of El Salvador via the Share Foundation, a non-profit organization, that supports grassroots communities in El Salvador in constructing sustainable solutions to poverty, underdevelopment and social injustice with nearly 30 years of experience working in solidarity with the people of El Salvador.

We would like to ask for your solidarity with those in need in the form of a financial contribution to this effort.  Your donation would be combined with the monies we are raising from the local Salvadoran community and local businesses and transferred via SANN to the Share Foundation.  While this is an emergency effort we feel that by working through the Share Foundation the funds we raise will be used for more than humanitarian aid but will also help the communities to strengthen their ability to respond to the next event.

We thank you for your generosity and should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
