Berklee stages Mexico City concert with performers from 5 countries

On October 7, Berklee College of Music is staging a pop concert in Mexico City with students and alumni from Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Uruguay, and Puerto Rico.

Some of the performers are among Latin America’s newest and rising stars.  Others are finalists in a Spanish-language songwriting contest who are vying for the prize of a fully produced music video to be shown on Telehit and MySpace Latino.

The concert will be at the renowned Lunario National Auditorium, and taped for a November broadcast on the Televisa cable/satellite music channel Telehit, which reaches millions of viewers in 60 countries.  This is the first time Berklee has staged a concert of this magnitude outside of the U.S.  Mexico City is the perfect location for the event, being the Latin music industry’s gateway to the rest of the world.
