¡Del guaguancó a la timba! at El Planeta’s Powermeter 100

It’s time to celebrate the 100 most influential people for the Latino community of Massachusetts and El Planeta Newspaper has brought together some of the very finest musicians to present a tribute to the Salsa music genre aptly titled “Salsa Odyssey: From Buena Vista Social Club to Rubén Blades …¡Del guaguancó a la timba!” curated by the legendary host from WBUR’s “¡Con Salsa!” radio show, José Massó. The breathtaking Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) will house a stage where Mr. Massó, will introduce the audience to Salsa standards and dance styles from the last 60 years. An ensemble of professors and students from some of the area’s most prestigious music schools and the MetaMovement dance company will bring music to life, taking guests from Cuba’s musical golden age to the urban salsa of Latin New York. Dance, discover and be part of history at El Planeta’s Powermeter celebration.
