Celebrate Day of the Dead with two events at Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology

Day of the Dead Evening Celebration

Friday, October 30, 2015 | 6:00-9:00 PM

Celebrate Day of the Dead with a festive evening of music, food, and community. Remember departed loved ones in front of this year’s Día de los Muertos altar, savor traditional Mexican food, and enjoy lively music by Verónica Robles and Her Mariachi.

Enjoy the permanent altar curated by Professor David Carrasco and the 2015 special altar which will feature folk art from Olinalá, Guerrero, selected and created by Mexican artist Javier González Rodríguez, whose illustration is shown here. He'll be available to discuss the motifs and techniques that make the art of Olinalá world-renowned.

Guests in catrina or calavera costumes (elegantly attired skeletons) will be eligible to win special prizes!

Tickets are $20 for members / $25 for nonmembers and are only available at www.peabody.harvard.edu.

The tickets must be purchased in advance.
