El Planeta announces the 100 Most Influential Individuals in the Massachusetts Hispanic community: The Powermeter 2008

BOSTON - For the fourth consecutive year, El Planeta, the largest Hispanic newspaper in Massachusetts, is proud to announce its Powermeter, the annual list of 100 individuals who have influenced the Hispanic community in Massachusetts during the year.

"These are exceptional individuals, not necessarily of Latino origin, who have made achievements and contributions through their work and fields to the advancement of the Hispanic community in Massachusetts in 2008," says Javier Marín, publisher of El Planeta.

Marin was part of the seven-member panel who met to sift through more than 100 nominations received for this year's Powermeter. The rest of the judges are David Beard, editor of Boston.com; Peter Kadzis, executive editor of the Phoenix Media/Communications Group; Alberto Limonic, director of El Planeta; Marcela García, editor of El Planeta; José Massó, a leader and recognized figure in the Boston Hispanic community; and Steve Mindich, publisher of the Phoenix Media/Communications Group.

El Planeta will publish a special section on the Powermeter 2008 in its December 4th issue with features, facts and information about the 100 honorees, as well as the "Future Powermeters", a compilation of promising candidates who have the potential of making it to the Powermeter list in years to come.
